Cette pièce est une création théâtrale faite à partir de recherches portant sur la vie réelle d'une femme chiriguana du Nord-ouest argentin, morte à l'âge de cent dix ans. L'ouvrage anthropologique qui a servi de base à l'oeuvre raconte la tragédie individuelle et collective des derniers aborigènes de cette tribu. La culture des Chiriguanos trouve son origine chez les Guaranis. Il ne s'agissait pas, cependant, d'illustrer la vie d'une indigène, mais de s'intéresser à l'histoire d'une femme à travers certains conflits en rapport avec ses enfants, le déracinement, le couple, la mort, la solitude. FACUNDINA Grupo Inyaj, La Plata, Performed in Spanish When anthropology becomes theatre Facundina is a stage production based on research into the true story of a Chiriguana woman in the northwest region of Argentina who died at the age of 110. The anthropological study on which the play is based relates the individual and collective tragedy of the last members of the indigenous Chiriguano tribe, whose culture is derived from that of the Guarani. The purpose of the work, however, is not to depict the life of a Native woman, but to look at the story of a woman by examining certain conflicts related to her children, upheaval and uprooting, the couple, death and loneliness.
